How brilliant were the fouding fathers when they said that we had the right to pursue happiness. Of course I am leaving out an awful lot of the rest of the text but is it just me or is the word "pursue" just jump out at you? Do we ever catch happiness? Arrive at a place we are happy? Do we get happy? Or do we always find ourselves in the pursuit of being happy? I work in a world of technology so it is easy for me to see the technology of tomorrow become the joke of yesterday. What would your reaction be if I told you that I just bought a brand new fax machine? It's the latest and greatest with all the bells and whistles on it. It connects to a phone line and can copy what's on a piece of paper across the wires to another fax machine anywhere I can dial a phone. A NEW fax machine? LOL. Go back just a little further and what if I told you that I just bought a new typewriter that will not only let you correct what is typed on the page without having to use those little strips of paper to do it, but you can also change the way the letters look by changing out the ball in the thing that has all the letters stamped on it? A NEW typewriter? LOL. Or, I just got a new phone that can be installed in my car and it lets me make phone calls while I am away from my house or office and I don't have to stop and use a pay phone? A NEW car phone? LOL. You fill in the blank. Maybe it's a new car for you. The thought of the wood accents on the dashboard or the white faced instruments or the 300hp engine. What about new adornments for the home? Corian, oh, wait I meant to say Granite, or is it Silstone now. I can't keep up. Or what about a new wife because the old model just wasn't as new or fresh anymore, it seemed old and everyone around you was upgrading anyway.
Sarcastic enough. Technology is moving on quickly, gathering pace each time. Ah, if we look back into the past, i realize how far away we are from what is now. Great.
